You Were Out Breaking My Heart For Me...

So I know I haven't written in a while, life has been crazy. I was at a competition all weekend [which didn't really go as planned] and before that I was working / preparing for the competition. Today we're going up to the cottage for the rest of the week [ and I'm coming home early to work] and then it's another week.

About a week ago I had a dream about someone from a while ago. I don't know why, but clearly my brain wanted to remind me that he is back. And by that I mean back in the city. Thumper, of course, was the one taking up space in my head. The only part of the dream I remember is him saying he was sorry, and asking if I forgave him, and I replied, "Yeah, I forgive you, but that doesn't mean I have to like you, does it?" Hmmm, apparently I'm quite sassy in my dreams. Who knew?

We'll Party Like It's Our Last Day...

There are a lot of things I still have to do before I die.
I decided I'd give you my current list:

  1. Finish high school and University
  2. Compete in the Olympics [and win, preferably]
  3. Live in at least one of the following: Ireland, Greece, England, France and Spain
  4. Get married [have kids]
  5. Fly a helicopter
  6. Watch the Northern Lights [from the Arctic]
  7. See as many countries as I can [All over Europe, Asia, Africa, North America, etc.]
  8. Run the most prestigious company in my specialty
  9. Bungee Jump
  10. Parasail
  11. Heliski
  12. Design the house I live in
  13. Win a lottery [not necessarily the lottery, but a lottery]
  14. Visit the wonders of the world
  15. Rock climb all over the world
  16. Scuba dive on the Great Barrier Reef and the Galapagos Islands
  17. Save a life
  18. Retire [only to continue working as a "hobby"]
  19. Live without debt
  20. Be happy, healthy, and active
This is a work in progress, but I think that it's pretty accurate so far.
And, of course, last but not least:

I still have to Live, Love, Spend, Travel.

You'll See Our Names In City Lights...

Life doesn't seem to want to slow down. I got a call from one of my coaches yesterday morning before my exam saying that she knows I already have a job, but when I'm not working there, would I like to work for her? Monday I write my last two exams, and then off to work I go on Tuesday!

Yesterday, Lola came over, and almost got lost on her way here. We didn't do much, considering the exam situation, just hung out and talked, the usual. Tomorrow I'm going up north to train with my coach, and ask her how often she's hoping I'll work! Monday is exams, and then summer! Monday night we're also having a little BBQ dinner for Cassie's birthday, Vikki and a bunch of other people will be there, which should be fun! And then I'm off.. I'm not sure how it'll feel, it's something I've been waiting for since september [is that sad?] but we'll see, I'm sure to make a decent amount of money, considering the work situation [although, a lot of it is going towards covering the cost of national competitions].

Okay, I need to stop procrastinating.. two more days of this, and then I don't have to worry for a few months..

First To Fall, Last To Know, Where'd You Go...

Blaaaah, exams are here. It's one of those things, everyone want summer, but no one wants to deal with the catch. The catch is that you have to get through exams first. I'm officially done half of my subjects [4/8] not that it's anything big, I mean, 2 exams down, plus gym and art. It's okay though, I have a day to study tomorrow, and then I guess I'll just absorb myself in my notes, by the time I get my next exam done I'll have 5 days to go, then after the next exam 3, then the weekend, and after next monday, I'm OUT.
One week left
This summer is creeping up, and I'm not sure how I feel about it. My last post was about how you can't be afraid of your dreams, and the reason I wrote about it is because that's exactly how I'm feeling. Not necessarily afraid, but uneasy, about the fact that everything I've been day-dreaming about doing, obviously the realistic things, are coming true in T-Minus 1 week, and counting. I'm super excited, because on one hand I'll become a nationally ranked competitor with an awesome horse, and and awesome trainer, but on the other, I'm leaving my comfort zone [the schooling] and entering the big, mean, and bitchy circuit of "Gold" competitors. Fingers crossed I don't get on someone's bad side in warm-up. Oooh god.

The Sun Will Set For You...

Today
is the beginning of the rest of your life.

Dream big dreams, and go after them. Sitting in your room wishing you were the one conquering the world isn't getting you anywhere. Get out there, meet people, talk, laugh, love, follow your heart, whatever happens, happens. No regrets. Fight for what you believe in, believe in yourself, know that you can do anything you set your mind and your heart on. Make those dreams reality. No one ever said they had to stay dreams forever, you know. Treat everyone with respect, they just might become your closest friends. Believe in the good in other people, be realistic in your expectations. Go that extra 1/2 mile. Cry, learn to love silence, smile, be patient. Find that one place that can always make everything better. Listen to music, write, express that feeling in your heart that no word can capture. Run, be free, leave old connections behind and find somewhere new. Remember the friends, forget the enemies. Find the few people you can always stand, keep them close.

When You Hit The Coast, I Hope You Think Of Me...

I have a bit of an obsession with country music, but strangely, right now I'm loooving Boys Like Girls, and The Maine. So Much.

Favorites Right Now?
Heels Over Head - Boys Like Girls
We Change, We Wait - and - The Town's Been Talkin' - The Maine

Of Course, the entire album(s) are amazing, especially the Maine, love all of their stuff.

This weekend was busybusybusy, as I had expected. Friday night was fun, met my physiotherapist's son.. strange because I was really no expecting it, and weirder because he was a total jackass. Not what I was expecting, considering his dad is super friendly. Kristine and Darcy met a couple of cute boys, and Kelsey and I let them do their thing and walked around talking, waiting, etc. Lots of fun, no need for boys when you have friends like these girls, and, of course, horses.
Saturday and Sunday was dedicated to horseback riding. Saturday Cassie, another girl and I got horses ready, rode, and packed so when the trailer got there at 5am the next morning we'd be ready to load. Sunday I got to the barn around 5am, got the horses loaded and were at the show by around 6am. Unfortunately, the girl I was trailering with had to be at the show that early because her horse has a hard time keeping its head on its shoulders, and her ride times were around 9am. My first ride wasn't until 2:34pm, meaning that, because we didn't have stalls for our horses, I was standing outside holding my horse for 7 hours before I could even start warming up.
Ooh well, the day was still a sucess! We showed a level above what we'd been doing before and came 1st and 1st.

I've talked to Tiffany a bit since she got back from her trip to visit Chicago, sounds like she had lots of fun! I'll see if she's got any good stories for me, and post more later.
